Paku Boutique House

Paku in the local dialect means “at the foot of the mountain” and metaphorically means Pure. A private residence in one of the Southern villages of “Central Desert” in Iran.

Reza the architect, renovated the house completely in his favorite style which is a combination of traditional and modern architecture. After almost ten alternate years, he created a piece of art in the middle of an oasis, a perfect durable boutique guesthouse called Paku.

Introducing Your hosts, “Reza & Banafsheh”

Banafsheh

Banafsheh was born and raised in Tehran. She studied computer sciences in high school but after her marriage with Reza, she continued with her higher education in the field of history. She was also interested in music and started to learn “Tonbak” when she was fifteen. Later she received lessons on “Tanbur” and started playing this sacred musical instrument for years.
Banafsheh was a fashion enthusiast and studied traditional costume from ancient Iranian tribes. She had many successful fashion events, showcasing her own style in Tehran & her boutique store in “Garmeh”.
She has more than twenty-years of experience in Yoga training and meditation techniques. Professionally, she is a licensed Yoga instructor and conduct her Yoga sessions in “Paku” boutique guesthouse.
Moreover, Banafsheh have some skills in alternative medicines and traditional healing techniques. She has thorough knowledge in herbal medicines, healthy & organic foods.

Reza

Reza was born in 1969 in Tehran, the capital of Iran. His father was an outdoor enthusiast and the Love for the nature was inspired by his father since childhood. He taught Reza outdoors and how to live and survive in the wild. In his twenties, he became a swift adventurer, camper, Skier & mountaineer. He also had skills in 4×4  adventures & motorcycling. living in the nature is now his life style and a day to day routine. He respects the “Mother Nature” truly and believes protecting the environment is his lifetime responsibility.
He received his  B.A in metallurgy engineering in 1994. He served the military as a supervisor and coached the ground forces in Skiing & mountaineering skills. His team has won the championship of the Armed forces in the same year.
After completing his military service, he followed his dreams, Starting sculpting for two years and continued with wood works and metal forges. With the backing of his studies and his unfolded talent in art he started his successful carrier in  furniture design and manufacturing. He continued his studies by taking some architectural courses paving the way for adding new line items to his CV as an experienced architect, doing interior & exterior designs.
His wife and true partner “Banafsheh”, supported him throughout his carrier, walking by his side every step of the way. They are expert travelers and traveled many countries in central Asia, India, Nepal, Morocco, Europe &  more. They also traveled a lot inside their homeland and gained lots of experience through their adventures and cultural trips. Right now Reza is a licensed tour leader whose specialty is in managing foreign tourism.
Since childhood Reza was a natural in music. He has played many instruments in his life, but in the last 22 years he seriously focused on the sacred traditional “Maqam Music”. “Tanbur” & “Dotar” are the two kinds of stringed Iranian instruments which he almost plays solo or in accompaniment with Banafsheh’s “Tonbak”.
